Liquid handling equipment can carry out simple and complex tasks, from filling plates to creating reagent mixes from multiple solutions. Standard liquid handlers can perform these tasks, but their hardware and software are not designed to perform combinatorial dispensing patterns efficiently. The I-DOT One offers a simple, reliable and robust non-contact acoustic dispensing.

Our I-DOT One Technology

The “Immediate Drop on Demand Technology” (I-DOT) uses a patented non-contact, pressure-based dispensing technology. By applying a well-defined pressure pulse on top of a source microtiter plate with holes in the bottom of each well, a droplet is formed and a highly precise and accurate nanoliter droplet is released into any target plate (SBS compatible format). Larger volumes are achieved by applying up to 400 pulses per second. The I-DOT is a new approach for nanoliter to microliter liquid handling tasks. The I-DOT One is specifically built for the use with 96 well I-DOT silica plates and I-DOT pure plates, where capillary forces keep the sample liquid in the cavity.

Combinatorial Dispensing with I-DOT One

A new approach for complex liquid handling tasks. Here we present the use of the I-DOT One non-contact dispensing system to create complex assays at low volume. The I-DOT source plate is located above the target plate that moves underneath. Each individual source well can dispense into each well in the target plate (SBS compatible format) with a different and precise volume. Up to 96 different liquids can be used within one dispensing run. This approach enables highly efficient combinatorial dispensing.

The I-DOT One dispenser has an integrated touch monitor and user-friendly software (I-DOT Assay Studio) which make it the best stand-alone dispensing system in the market. To meet your high-throughput needs, the software is SiLA compatible for 3rd party integration.
