Hey Bioprinting communtiy! My name is Chris and I’m a Biomedical Engineering master’s student at Chalmers University of Technology. I’ve always had a deep fascination with biology in combination with technology.
Besides being the first Bioink company in the world, CELLINK produces cost-effective 3D Bioprinters. This disruptive technology is growing exponentially and I’m super excited to be part of it. I’m a curious person so I’m always eager to learn more especially in the Tissue Engineering field.
In my free time I listen to audiobooks, train Mixed Martial Arts and all kinds of other sports and outdoor activities.
What sparked your interest to work with 3D Bioprinting?
What inspired me the most was the big potential of the biofabrication technology we work with. The possibility to eliminate animal cruelty for scientific research, accelerate drug development, accelerate cancer research and make human organs available on demand is amazing to me. I believe our limitless imagination will help us see a variety of possibilities that some see as impossible.
What do you hope to see happen with 3D Bioprinting during your lifetime?
Printing fully functional organs and being a major contributor to healing cancer. I also think that one day, CELLINK bioprinters will be sent to Mars to test possibilities for extraterrestrial human colonization.
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I have an Instagram account for my dog. Check her out @molly4real
What was your dream job as a child?
I always dreamt of building a company in the medical technology field since I was always fascinated by technology, the human body and life in general. While being an undercover racing driver of course, best of both worlds!
If you could have one superpower what would it be
