What sparked your interest to work with 3D bioprinting?

I studied biomedical engineering at Boston University as an undergrad, where I used 3D printing quite extensively. That’s where I was introduced to bioprinting — its sheer number of applications is what really grabbed my attention. The potential for such groundbreaking work to be done is what makes this such an exciting space to be a part of. We truly have the power to shape the future of healthcare!

What do you hope to see happen with 3D bioprinting during your lifetime?

A universal goal for 3D bioprinting is to print functioning organs and tissue. This will impact many issues faced by the medical world. A more realistic goal for my lifetime might be for 3D bioprinting methods to proliferate into the biotech industry.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I share the same birthday as my sister … who is six years older than I am.

What was your dream job as a child?
As a kid I always dreamed of being a soccer player for my favorite team, Liverpool. Working at CELLINK was always a close second!

If you could have one superpower what would it be?
