Name: Matteo Fiammetta
Position: Application Specialist/Sales Executive
Hi Matteo! Please tell us a little bit about yourself.
Who I am? Someone that truly loves good food (I am Italian obviously)! Anyway, I am a very curious person that loves new experiences and to meet new people from all over the world. This is the spark that drives all my choices. I studied my master in BioNanoengineering in Belgium and I got in the business world while working at Ernst&Young Italy. Always hungry for new international challenges, I then joined the innovation center of Air Liquide Paris bridging the corporate word with startups while pursuing an MBA at the College des Ingenieurs. And, finally, I joined the fast-moving and innovative CELLINK in Sweden in order to contribute to the change in the world of medicine. Other than this, I am pretty lazy in sports but I love traveling and as soon as I have some spare time I get my backpack and go anywhere in the world!
What sparked your interest to work with 3D Bioprinting?
The first time I got to know bioprinting during one of my university courses I immediately noticed the great potential of this technology. I said to myself “this can really change everything!” and I decided that I wanted to be part of this revolution.
What do you hope to see happen with 3D Bioprinting during your lifetime?
I really hope to be able to see the clinical applications of 3D bioprinted organs. I want to wake up one day and read on the news that an implanted bioprinted liver has saved a human’s life.
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I don’t like pizza.
What was your dream job as a child?
Obviously I wanted to become a Pokemon trainer.
If you could have one superpower what would it be?
I would like to the have the power to be in different places at the same time so that I could have enough time for my family, friends, and job.
