Hello, my name is Chris Slater. I grew up in Houston, Texas and I come from a military family. I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a BBA, and I majored in business marketing. Before I joined CELLINK, I worked as a computer repair technician. In my free time I enjoy fishing, traveling, playing sports and gaming.

What sparked your interest to work with bioprinting?

I had some experience with 3D printing before joining CELLINK, but the opportunity to be part of the next “big thing” in health and biotechnology was more than enough to get me interested in bioprinting.

What do you hope to see happen with bioprinting during your lifetime?

I hope to see successful clinical implementation of bioprinted knee cartilage because I have some sports injuries from college I would like to fix.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I am a professional rugby player and have my own handmade soap business.

What was your dream job as a child?

I wanted to be an actor when I was a kid.

If you could have one superpower what would it be?

The ability to teleport. Night Crawler was my favorite X-Men character.
