BIOLIFE4D Just 3D Printed A Human ‘Mini-Heart’

Chicago biotech company uses its proprietary bioink, bioprinting algorithm, and cardiomyocytes to create an organ that replicates functions of the human heart.
In an official announcement today, the Chicago-based biotech company BIOLIFE4D announced that it used 3D printing to produce a human “mini-heart.”

Though smaller in size, the 3D-printed organ features the same cellular structure as a full-sized human heart. The company sees this first example as a roadmap toward bioprinting a full-size human heart.
