GelXA SKIN has been developed for the fabrication of skin or skin related constructs. This bioink incorporates fibrinogen to recapitulate the native wound healing environment found in native tissue, particularly in skin. Fibrinogen is converted to fibrin in the wound healing process, where it through polymerization creates blood clotting and promote tissue repair. GelXA SKIN contains a crosslinking solution enhanced with thrombin, permitting the development of a compound network that offers unparalleled stability. After crosslinking with thrombin, GelXA SKIN contains both in situ fibrin and fibrinogen, providing a more physiological wound healing environment. GelXA SKIN is perfectly adapted for printing skin models for research and testing.
